We’re Jack Robertson and Steven Rennie, the two guys behind Falcon Building Supplies here in Keith, Moray, Scotland. We’ve been friends for longer than either of us can remember. We reckon if you’re going to go into business with someone, you need to know you can trust them, that they share the same values of loyalty and hard work, and that they’re going to be with you for the long run.
We’ve both worked in the traditional building supplies trade, and we could clearly see there’s a better way of doing business, one that focusses on putting the customer first, through developing ongoing relationships with customers, suppliers and staff. That’s what we’re doing here, building lasting relationships. After all, we’re all in it together.
You could say we had a vision, and that’s why we named the business ‘Falcon’, after the bird which is a symbol of vision.
When we made the decision to bring that vision to life, we shook on it. In Scotland, a handshake is a very important thing. Once two hands have shaken, that’s it. A handshake is a commitment to one another that can’t be broken. This belief is at the heart of the Falcon way of doing business.
We grew up in Keith and we’ve lived here all our lives. We know the people of Moray and we understand how they like to do business. When we started building the team, we looked for others who shared our vision for a better customer experience. We wanted people with integrity and common sense, committed to growing and developing as individuals within the Falcon family. We’re proud of our team and we want each of them to know they’re critical to our success. We invest in training to make sure their skills are bang up to date, meaning that whoever you’re dealing with, you get a friendly welcome and a knowledgeable answer.
We may be the new boys in town, but we know our stuff, we’ve got good people on board and we’re going places. The Scottish Home Improvement Awards say we’re the best building supplies company in Scotland. Not bad for our first year of trading. It was voted for by the public, then put to an independent panel, so you can’t argue with that! Clearly, people reckon we’re getting it right!
Wondering what all the fuss is about? Next time you’re in the area, stop by for a coffee, no obligation, just come in for a chat, meet the guys, and tell us what you’re up to. We’ll be here when you need us.
